Our Values, Priorities and Practices

Our values are the hidden principles that motivate us to live the kind of lives we are passionate about.

  • We are called to honour God above all else.
  • To love Jesus with all our hearts.
  • To love ourselves as He loves us.
  • To love those He brings on our paths so much that we will be willing to lay down our lives for them.
  • To know Jesus as our friend in the small and inconsequential things of this life.
  • To introduce others to our best Friend.
  • To learn and embrace the extent of our weakness so that we can discover what it means not to be able to do anything without Jesus.
  • To increasingly discover every day the companionship and the guidance of the Holy Spirit as He unveils the beauty of the Son.
  • To allow the Son to introduce the Father to us.
  • To guard with our lives the liberty we have discovered in Christ and to continually seek freedom from legalistic obligation and shame.
  • To live by the faith of the Son of God.
  • To boast in nothing but the cross of Christ.

Our priorities and practices flow from our values and give order to our quest to live the kind of lives that will manifest them.

  • We are called to relate, firstly to God and then to others.
  • We are called to live our lives creatively and excitingly together and to manifest the will of God for our lives in obedience.
  • We are called to serve and love our neighbour.
  • We are called to influence our environment by applying Kingdom principles through our lifestyle as a community.
  • We are not called to build an institution or to make a name for ourselves.
  • We prefer to live our lives together outside the accepted norms of Sunday services, central organisation, church programs, shallow task orientated relationships and church politics.
  • We want to be deliberate about:
    • Building relationship with Jesus and our friends.
    • Serving our neighbour.
    • Being accountable to each other.
    • To allow the Holy Spirit to lead us in discovering more of the life of Jesus through healing our hurts and pain.
  • To learn how to let this life flow from us.
  • To join Jesus and the Holy Spirit in their ministry of intercession and prayer for ourselves, the church and the world.
